The GLOBAL G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices) Certificate is a globally recognized certification system that documents that agricultural products have been produced safely and sustainably. It aims to ensure food safety, worker health, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability by auditing compliance with specific standards at every stage of the production process.

History of GLOBALG.A.P.:

Launched in 1997 by a group of European retailers under the name EUREPGAP (Euro-Retailer Produce Working Group Good Agricultural Practices), this initiative gained a global identity in 2007 and was renamed GLOBALG.A.P.

Scope of GLOBALG.A.P.:

GLOBALG.A.P. offers various standards covering different areas of agricultural production:

• Crops (Fruit and Vegetables, Flowers and Ornamentals, Combinable Crops, Tea, Coffee, etc.)

• Livestock (Cattle and Sheep, Pigs, Poultry, Dairy, etc.)

• Aquaculture

• Compound Feed Manufacturers

• Chain of Custody

The Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) implemented in Turkey is the national equivalent of the GLOBALG.A.P. standard. Producers who have obtained the Turkish GAP certificate can also achieve GLOBALG.A.P. equivalency.
