# What is a UFI code?

The Unique Formula Identifier (UFI) is a 16-character alphanumeric code that must appear on the label of hazardous mixtures under Annex VIII of the CLP Regulation. It links the product to the information submitted to poison centres.

Cosmetics are exempt; they provide information to poison centres through CPNP.
